On the morning of Saturday, October 21, the Zhongyifeng Public Welfare Association organized young volunteers to visit the old people in Suzhou Welfare General Hospital. The volunteers of this activity included "mother" volunteers from the basic branch company. They took part in the activity together with their children, brought various fruits and cakes to the old people in the welfare center, and performed a colorful festival. Look, I spent a happy morning with the old people.
Respecting and loving the elderly is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. The basic branch team always pays attention to promoting this filial piety culture. Every year, volunteers are organized to visit the elderly in welfare homes periodically, to send the needed goods to the elderly, but also to bring care and joy to the elderly. This year is the fourth year for the volunteers of the basic branch company to enter the Suzhou General Social Welfare Institute. When I heard that Zhongyifeng volunteers would bring their children to visit, dozens of elderly people waited early in the activity room of the elderly welfare center. They sent fruit cakes to the old people and festival wishes. The innocent and lovely children performed songs, dances, magic, English recitation and other programs for the old people. The decent performances were received by the old people. They warmly welcomed, the old people applauded one after another, often thumbs up to praise the children. Later, we accompanied the elderly to play chess, cards, heart-to-heart talks and family activities. We gathered together, the scene was warm and moving. The old people and children were reluctant to part when they said goodbye. They held hands with the old people to say goodbye and told them that they would come again.
On the afternoon of October 25, some literary and artistic workers in Suzhou Public Culture Center and Cultural Museum celebrated the Chongyang Festival with the elderly in welfare homes to share cultural feast. Meanwhile, the Zhongyifeng Public Welfare Association had the privilege of assisting in the layout of the venue for the event. The children bought fruits such as bananas and oranges and some confectionery and cakes. The volunteers arrived at the venue early and worked in a reasonable division of labor and running water. In a short period of time, we arranged the dishes, paper towels, fruits and more than a dozen candy and pastries in an orderly and tense manner. We assisted the staff of the Social Work Department of the General Welfare Hospital to complete the site layout and the table layout of the performance venue, so that the elderly and children of the welfare home spent a pleasant afternoon. Although we are all busy sweating, but we can use such a real action to send care to the elderly to the hands of the elderly and sincerely proud and happy. This kind action of volunteers has not only been well received by the elderly and staff at the event site, but also highly praised and affirmed by President Sun Huizhong of Suzhou General Social Welfare Hospital.
